Fishing Retreat

Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, Manson offers an incomparable fishing experience,
year-round. Visit our lakes or travel to nearby rivers for freshwater fishing excursions and cast
for many species of trout and salmon, burbot (fresh water lingcod), bass, crappie or blue gill.

 

 

Discover the dramatic beauty of the Lake Chelan Valley as you learn to read the area's waters
and reel in a memorable catch. Depending on the season, choose from fly, ice or spin fishing
local lakes or nearby rivers.

 

Lake Chelan

Lake Chelan stretches 50.5 miles and is fed from glaciers through the mouth of Stehekin River.
It is the third deepest lake in the U.S., and ninth deepest lake in the world,  at 1,486 feet deep
and approaching 400 feet below sea level.  Water travels down-lake to the Chelan River, routing
through one of the deepest gorges in North America. The fish in Lake Chelan are land-locked.

    • Available Year-Round
    • Larges spieces of game fish on Lake Chelan
    • Average 3 to 6 pounds (up to 20+ pounds)
    • Troll with downriggers at 100-300 feet deep
  • Burbot Cod (Freshwater Lingcod)
    • Available Year-Round
    • Average 14 to 24 inches

Wapato Lake

Wapato Lake covers 216 surface acres and has a maximum depth of 68 feet.
This lake has a little something for most all anglers. 

Location: 3 Miles North of Manson on Wapato Lake Rd.

Roses Lake

Roses Lake is a small and quiet lake nestled in the hills of Manson, providing scenic views of
the valley's majestic mountains. Bring your boat and enjoy the intimate atmosphere of this
little gem of a lake. Also a popular spot for ice fishing in the winter.

Location: 1 Mile North of Manson on Roses Ave.

Dry Lake

Dry Lake covers 77 surface acres and has a maximum depth of only 11 feet. This lake is best
fished in the Spring and early Summer before the aquatic weeds get too thick. Public access
is from a rough road-side site suited for hand carried craft only.

Location: 1 Mile North of Manson on Dry Lake Rd.

Antilon Lake

Antilon Lake is a secluded 96-acre reservoir north of Manson. The lake is host to a campground
with dispersed camping sites, and boasts breathtaking views of Fourth of July Mountain.

Location: 5 Miles North of Manson on Grade Creek Rd.

Stehekin River

Located at the head of Lake Chelan, the Stehekin River offers some of the finest
fly-fishing in the Northwest.

Columbia River

The Columbia River is only a short drive from Manson through the striking Chelan Falls Gorge.

  • Chinook Salmon
    • Available July-October
    • 10 to 10 pounds (up to 40+ pounds)
    • Troll with downriggers
  • Steelhead
    • Available October-January
    • Average 5 to 10 pounds
    • Use bobber and jig combinations above Wells Dam and in the
      Methow River / Columbia River confluence.
  • Small-Mouth Bass
    • Available March-August
    • Average 2 to 4 pounds
    • Use plastic grubs and spinner baits
  • Walleye
    • Available Year-Round
    • Average 2 to 6 pounds (up to 10 pounds)
    • Use plastic grubs and spinner baits
